From idea to experiment
This section will provide links to one outcome produced by students taking MSLOC 430 in the Master’s Program in Learning and Organizational Change at Northwestern University: An idea for an innovation that leverages an enterprise social network platform to change the way we work or learn within an organization.
Innovations emerge from course work in two areas.
First, exploring case studies of organizations that face common challenges or opportunities impacting their strategic or operational goals. For example: How do we improve our ability to meet strategic goals (or mission) by more consistently generating new ideas and innovations across our enterprise? These case studies are drawn from the students’ own organizations.
Second, looking at how we might combine or integrate networked work or learning models in new ways. Might combining “open design” with personal learning networks yield a new way to approach how we more consistently generating new ideas and innovations across our enterprise?
These innovation ideas will not yet be tested. So each submission here will provide some thoughts on how an organization might conduct a small experiment to test out the idea or key elements of the idea.
